Water Resources

Managing water resources for the purpose of providing a sufficient supply of clean water is crucial to protecting public health and fostering economic growth.  At the same time, communities and agencies must address problems related to flood and stormwater management.  EnTech personnel have a wealth of experience in identifying demands and addressing those demands with water resource solutions.  They are well-versed in the engineering aspects of water resource development, as well as in Wyoming water rights laws, policies and issues.  They are also experienced in watershed hydrology, specifically for the purpose of planning and implementing stormwater management plans.  As a result, EnTech can work with its clients to evaluate various alternatives and identify the best overall approach to meeting the clients needs in this vital area.

Representative projects include the following:

The Twin Lakes Reservoir Enlargement project for the Sheridan Area Water Supply Joint Powers Board, Sheridan, Wyoming.  This project entailed an enlargement of the City of Sheridan's existing dams and reservoirs from an existing capacity of 1500 ac-ft to 3400 ac-ft.  EnTech personnel were responsible for estimating water demands, determining available supplies to meet that need, and administration of environmental permitting, design and construction contracts to complete the expansion project.
Dayton Exploration Water Well for the Wyoming Water Development Commission, Sheridan County, Wyoming.  Working with a local geological consultant, EnTech administered design and construction contracts that provided for a Madison Formation water well to be drilled for the Town of Dayton.  The well proved to be artesian and, after acid enhancement, was capable of flowing approximately 200 gallons per minute.  Water quality meets all federal drinking water standards.
Town of Ranchester Water Master Plan for the Wyoming Water Development Commission, Ranchester, Wyoming. EnTech completed a conceptual plan of water supply, treatment and distribution facilities for the Town via a contract with the Wyoming Water Development Commission.  Of particular concern to the Town was the impact of upstream agricultural runoff upon its raw water supplies.  Entech evaluated nine different alternatives for the Town to consider in addressing these raw water supply problems.
Ucross Foundation Petition for Change in Point of Diversion, Sheridan County, Wyoming.  EnTech worked with the Ucross Foundation to successfully change an existing point of diversion used for agricultural purposes.  Mapping and petitions were provided to the foundation to enable the Wyoming State Board of Control to approve of the Foundation's request, thereby improving agricultural irrigation and allowing for an existing water storage facility to be utilized.
Hydrology Studies and Hydraulic Design for Wyoming Department of Transportation.  As part of the numerous design projects for which EnTech has provided service to the Wyoming Department of Transportation in the area of identifying stormwater flows and designing culverts and bridges to pass this stormwater beneath the proposed highways.  Recent projects have included WYDOT’s Pine Ridge, LoneTree and Horse Creek highway improvement projects.
